"He was a groomsman. She was a bridesmaid. It sounds like the beginning of a romantic comedy, but for us, that day was just a moment in time. Our love story didn’t begin at the altar of someone else’s wedding. It began quietly, a few months later, when we reconnected and started something that felt easy, natural and completely right.
Our love has always been about shared experiences. One of the things that bonded us early on was a deep love for travel. Since we’ve been together, we’ve been on around 28 trips across the world. From the buzzing chaos of Tokyo to the romantic canals of Venice, from the beaches of Bali to the peaceful corners of the English countryside, we have explored the world hand in hand. Travelling together isn’t just about the destination for us. It’s about the laughter in airport queues, the shared awe at new places, the late-night snacks, and the quiet moments of connection in unfamiliar cities.
Two years ago, one of those trips became the setting for a moment we’ll never forget. During golden hour in Rome, overlooking the Colosseum, Shaun proposed. It was planned, meaningful and so full of heart. The setting was iconic, but the moment itself was simple and real. There were no grand theatrics, just the two of us and a feeling that this was exactly where we were meant to be.
One of the most exciting parts of the journey for me was finding the dress. I knew exactly what I wanted. I was looking for something timeless. I didn’t want to look back on photos in ten or twenty years and feel like I had followed a trend. I wanted something that felt like me. Simple, elegant, and classic. When I found the Delancey gown, everything clicked. The silhouette was incredibly flattering. It hugged in all the right places but still moved beautifully. The slit added a modern twist without taking away from the timeless feel. One of my favourite features was the button-down back that ran the full length. It added such a delicate, vintage-inspired detail that felt subtle but special.
The dress matched how I wanted to feel. Confident, comfortable and elegant, without being overdone. It was exactly what I had envisioned and more."
