"We met in the military as we did the same training together. I remember the first thing I noticed about him was his smile - he had gorgeous, white teeth - and I knew I fancied him from the off. He was quite shy, not like the typical men I'd seen in the past, he wasn't obnoxious or arrogant, just very polite and kind. I invited him up to my hometown for a night out and when the drinks started flowing, I made the first move, so don't believe that it's always got to be the man that does so! Due to us working together, we spent most days together flirting in the classroom hoping nobody would notice, and we dated in secret. We soon found out everyone knew as it was so obvious - and it started from there! We got engaged 2 years later at a luxury shepherd's hut in Somerset, just the two of us out in the wilderness. I had no makeup on and I was in pyjamas, but it was perfect, fast forward another 2 years and we are now married! We are the same height and I always felt conscious of being a tall woman at 5ft10; I always thought I'd be with someone taller than me and that's what I wanted. But Robert makes me feel confident in my own skin, I wear heels and sometimes I'm taller than him, but I've come to realise that's okay. He's kind, caring and thoughtful, and small things like that don't matter when you've found the one."

"The best part of the day was my mam had organised a surprise for during the wedding breakfast. Two singers had dressed up as staff and so nobody knew about them until they burst into song. It got everyone in the mood for the evening, and we were singing the classics like 'Summer of '69' and 'Sweet Caroline.' Robert's favourite song 'Mr. Brightside' by The Killers came on, and I stood on my chair 'round my girlfriends and he stood on his chair near his lad friends. They then lifted him in the air as he sung along to the chorus, it was so funny but I wouldn't expect anything less, and people still talk about it now!"
