Chris and I are high school sweethearts. We met in high school in 2009. We started out as best friends and eventually, that became more. We had all our classes together in Grade 12, and we became super close on an overnight trip to Montreal. A lot of people do not believe in young love, but ours lasted.
We also went to University together. We have spent some great milestones together, and there is no one else I could imagine going through life with.
I was very much a DIY bride. I created and built almost every aspect of my decor. I made over 75 concrete and copper candlestick holders. I created concrete menu holders.
I built pipe table seating and welcome sign stands. Several items were handmade! Our guest favors were test-tubes filled with spices because Chris and I met in Chemistry class.
The entire day was MAGICAL. But, everyone was in on a surprise for Chris and me. About an hour before our ceremony, we were taking photos at the venue, and everyone was delaying us going outdoors for photos. I was super confused and had no clue what was going on.
Sure enough, our dog walked in, wearing a tuxedo and floral collar. I instantly cried!!! I was so shocked! I had accepted the fact that Charlie would not be able to be part of the day, but my mother worked her magic so we could have wedding photos with him. It was perfect!
Advice to other brides?
RELAX! Take in EVERY SINGLE SECOND of the day.
Pause and just take it all in. Do not, and I repeat DO NOT, let anything bother you. Also, try and stay beside your groom! Chris and I danced together, walked around together, talked to people together. It was very important for us to spend as much time together as possible that day.
Tell us about your gown!
I chose the MYRA. I actually WON the #EnzoaniRealBride Contest in Fall 2017. It was a dream come true!
After I found out I won, I went to an Enzoani trunk show and I tried on 8 dresses. Myra was #1 and it was THE ONE! I wanted a dress with straps, lace, beading, crystals, and tulle.
This dress hit all my wants. It was perfect. The v-neckline and low back were also important. I loved the fitted bodice and dramatic bottom with flowy tulle. It was beyond perfect!
From October 16th to November 13th, 2019, Enzoani will be hosting their annual gown giveaway! Submissions and entry are valid through October 16th to October 30th. Brides will then be asked to complete tasks between November 1st to November 11th as their final step. On November 13th, one lucky bride will become an #EnzoaniRealBride winner with their choice of Enzoani gown!! For entry, rules, and more information, follow this link here.
