“It was Mother’s Day, and I thought what better way to spend the day than with my mum looking at bridal dresses? I have always envisaged this day spent with my mum and nan sipping on bubbles whilst I try on all kinds of dresses, listening to the different opinions that circulate the room. Unfortunately, my nan passed away before this day had come, but with every dress I tried on, both my mum and I couldn’t help but laugh as we knew exactly what she would have said about it.”

Jade was drawn towards the ‘Marnie’ dress as soon as she laid eyes on the sleek and sophisticated mermaid gown. She instantly felt her nan's approval when she tried it on.

"Dalton and I met over 10 years ago through a mutual friend. The first time I met him was when they picked me up from a pajama party... how embarrassing! I walked up to him, in my drunken state, wearing my slippers and introduced myself. In that moment, I don’t think either of us ever thought we would become husband and wife! We spent a lot of time over the summer as a large group, but our connection was instant. We built a strong friendship which eventually developed into 10 years of wonderful memories. When we met, it was around the time that we had chosen our university options and by coincidence, we both ended up going to Swansea University. After the first year, we decided to move in together with a group of our friends and since then we have lived together and not looked back. After finishing University, we decided to buy our first house together. Two years down the line, we are on to our second home and now live as a family of three with our gorgeous black labrador Buddy."

The Proposal

"Dalton and I love to go on holiday, and I was especially excited about going to the Dominican Republic. We had never been before, but every Caribbean resort we had stayed at had been better than the last. Little did I know that this was going to be our best holiday yet! We were staying at CHIC Punta Cana and decided to go for a walk along the beach. The view was stunning and the weather was perfect, but nothing could prepare me for the sight of Dalton on one knee with a beautiful ring glistening in the sun. I’ll be honest, I can’t remember anything he said, I just smiled and screamed yes! As we arrived back to our hotel room, I opened the door to find rose petals scattered all over the room, ‘I love you’ written on the bed in petals and a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne cooling in an ice bucket beside the petal filled bath. I never realised how romantic he was! After several celebrations were held with family and friends, the planning commenced and I soon realised I knew exactly what I wanted... I just had to get Dalton on board."

"We decided to get married two years after getting engaged. Our 10-year anniversary was going to be in 2019, so we couldn’t think of a more special time to celebrate. End of one key anniversary and the start of another. We could not have asked for a more special day with our loved ones, and the wedding was everything we could have ever dreamed of, and more. We have the most incredible memories of our day and are looking forward to sharing new adventures together. They say you don’t marry someone you can live with, you marry someone you can’t live without, and I think this sums us up perfectly."
