Sophie and Phillip's wedding was the perfect blend of timeless romance and Old Hollywood glamour. Set against the stately backdrop of Wynyard Hall in the UK, their summer celebration radiated elegance. Sophie & Phillip's Love Story

"We met during Covid in 2020 when all of the outside dining had opened up again, and I had gone out for some afternoon drinks with friends where I was introduced to Phill. We had both lived in the same small town all our lives and never crossed paths until now. It was definitely love / lust at first sight, we were inseparable for the next 3 days until he told me he had to go away to work in Norway for the next 3 months. I didn’t see how this would work, but love prevailed and we FaceTimed every day while he was away. Due to Covid and him working away, the next year was short stints of us seeing each other whenever we could. We would often book holidays to Barbados and city breaks to Paris to make the time as fun as possible, but Phill had a father suffering with Parkinson’s disease at home, which, in Phill's absence, I chose to go and help him out as much as possible, in which time I grew very close to his father Pete and dog Joey. In February 2023, Phill flew us to New York as a surprise where he ended up proposing to me. We spent the evening celebrating at The River Cafe restaurant underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, and just over a year later, we decided to tie the knot on the 4-year anniversary of us meeting that summer during Covid. A week before our wedding, Phill's father passed away which left us heartbroken, however, we still decided to go ahead with the wedding and honour his dad. We were so overwhelmed with different emotions, but life works in funny ways. I was so glad I got the time to spend with his father while he worked away, and I know he would be so proud of us. We now have 2 fur babies together, Joey (Pete’s dog) and Dexter, and we can’t wait to see what this next chapter of our lives brings!"

Advice to other brides?

"Don’t sweat the small stuff, try not to overthink every little detail because it consumes you and takes the enjoyment away from planning! If you can, get all the small things sorted in advance so you can have a good 2 weeks before the day to do nothing and just relax, organisation is key! Also, get a videographer. I nearly didn’t bother, but it’s the best money we spent!"
