Tell us your love story…
"We met for the first time in 2014 at a nightclub event. We kept running into each other that night and got to know each other a little bit, then at the end of the night Liam asked for my phone number. The next day, he texted me to ask me if I would go out with him, and we had our first date 3 days later.
For our first date, Liam wouldn’t tell me where he was taking me but told me I had to wrap up warm (a little unusual since it was in August). He picked me up from my parents’ house in the afternoon and told me we were going to the beach. Once we arrived at the beach, Liam opened his car boot and got out firewood, a lighter, blankets, wine and marshmallows to toast. We lay next to the fire drinking wine and getting to know each other. It was such an incredible first date, you could say he swept me off my feet! We were so lucky with the weather too, it was warm and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. As the evening went on, we shared our first kiss under the stars!
We did long distance for 1 year as I was finishing my degree away from my hometown. We met up most weekends and had non-stop fun together making memories. Soon after I graduated, we bought our first house and moved in together. Living together brought us even closer in our relationship. We were then ready for the next step, so we brought home a 10-week-old sausage dog puppy. Richmond the sausage dog added so much to our lives, the 3 of us have been inseparable ever since!
In 2017, we went on holiday to the Maldives for the first time. It was the most incredible place we had ever been. On our second night, Liam booked dinner for us on a nearby private island. We arrived by speedboat just before sunset. The waiter then took us over to our ‘table’. As we got closer I saw a heart shaped table carved into the sand, all dressed and decorated with fresh flowers and candles. I looked around and realised that we were alone on this beautiful island. It was at this moment that Liam got down on one knee and proposed to me with the most stunning ring I’d ever seen. Of course I said yes!
Our wedding was originally booked for June 2020, but due to Covid-19 it was postponed 1 year, to July 2021. We were so disappointed, but we knew that one-year would be nothing in the grand scheme of our lifetime together. We are so glad we waited, as it enabled us to have our dream day just as we had envisioned it."
